What league does the Bulldogs play in?
The Bulldogs are members of the Suffolk County Police Athletic League's (PAL) football program.
Where are opposing teams located? Is there travel involved?
Opposing teams are located throughout Suffolk County. However, most teams will be local (e.g. Commack, Northport, Dix Hills, etc.). There will however be weeks were more travel will be required.
Are there tryouts?
No. The Bulldogs do not turn away players. All players are given a spot on a roster regardless of experience, skill level or any other factor. The only situation which may prevent a player from participating is when it poses a health or safety risk to the player of his fellow Bulldogs.
Typically what are the team sizes and limits?
In the 5/6 age group teams are on average made up of 11 players.
Teams 7-13 have on average 21-22 players and Cheer squads average at 13.
Are there weight limits or restrictions?
No. PAL has removed weight restrictions.
How long is the season?
Preseason starts in mid-July. The season starts in the beginning of September and runs for 10 weeks.

Where are practices and Home games held?
All practices and Home games are held at Manor Field. For directions click here.
When are practices?
Practice is from 6 to 7:45pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. 9 to 11am on Saturdays.
When do the Bulldogs play their games?
Games are typically held throughout the day on Saturday or Sunday. Additionally, there may be some games held on Friday night under the lights.
How many games do each team play during the season?
5/6 year olds play 8 games and 7 to 13 play 10 games.
Do I need to buy my own equipment?
Yes & No. The league provides all players with a helmet, shoulder pads, thigh and knee pads as well as a jersey, game pants and game socks.
You will need to purchase cleats (no detachable cleats or metal cleats), a mouthpiece (strapped) and an athletic supporter (a.k.a. "cup").
Are there any fundraising requirements?
No. You do not have to sell anything as a condition of registration. We no longer require the sales of tickets or any other type of fundraising. We do however have league fundraisers throughout the year. If you wish to show your support you are more than welcome to participate in these events.
