Practices
All practices will take place at Manor Field on East 5th St in Huntington Station. The first 2 weeks will be evaluation and basic training sessions with teams being split up the first week in August.
First Practice July 17th.
5 & 6 Year-olds will begin their practice schedule on August 10th and practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.
2010 PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Cheerleaders and Football Players age 5 to 10
Tuesday and Thursday 6PM to 7:50PM
Saturday 9AM to 10:50AM
11 to 13 Year-Old Football Players
Monday and Wednesday 6PM to 7:50PM
Saturday 9AM to 10:50AM
Early Practices
Do NOT wear football equipment to practice until directed to do so by the Age group Coordinator for your age group. Do bring water to practice (NOT SPORTS DRINKS) and make sure that you hydrate yourself by drinking at least 16oz of water an hour before practice. In extremely hot conditions we recommend that you bring a more solid water bottle with the player's name on the container. Plastic water bottles tend to break down when rested on the artificial surface.
Weather Related Cancelations
We will always practice unless the Town closes the field, an electrical storm is present or the heat index is too high for safety considerations. Please call the Town of Huntington Rain Phone to determine if a cancellation is in effect after 4:30PM. The rain phone is 631 351 3101.
You will be notified of any Saturday practice cancellations by your coach.
Game Schedules and Standings
While most games are played on Sundays, we also schedule games on Friday nights and Saturday nights. The schedule will be posted in the Schedules section, when we receive it. 5 to 8 year-old teams will generally play 4 home games and 4 away games. 9 to 13 year-old teams will generally play 5 home games and 5 away games.
Football Equipment Distribution
Regular distribution took place in June. If you were not issued equipment at that time, you can get your equipment the week of July 19th Monday through Thursday on a night when your team is NOT scheduled to practice
What to Bring when you pick up your Football Equipment

MISSION STATEMENT
The Huntington Youth Football League Inc. (H.Y.F.L.) was established in October 2001 as a Not-For-Profit corporation pursuant to Section 402 of the Corporation Law of the State of New York.
The purpose of the Organization is to provide organized structured athletic activity for the youth of the Town of Huntington, through our Huntington Bulldogs Football and Cheerleading programs.
The goals of the H.Y.F.L. programs are to inspire youth, regardless of race, creed, religion or national origin, to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship, and physical fitness.
The H.Y.F.L. strives to make the game "fun" for all boys and girls. Coaches must constantly keep in mind the ages of the participants. The program stresses learning lessons of value far beyond the playing or cheering days of the boys and girls involved. These include self-discipline, teamwork, concentration, friendship, leadership, and good sportsmanship.
With such goals in mind, and by providing an opportunity to participate in an organized, supervised environment with emphasis on maximum safety and participation, the H.Y.F.L. offers young men and women a unique learning experience.
HOW ARE WE DOING?
We welcome your comments, opinions and suggestions about our program. Please use the link below to send us an email and let us know how we can make your Bulldog experience a positive one.
